welcome kkelleman as for your question there is no way to answer that, It depends on where you live and the USPS service so I can't give you that answer.

Read this thread: "Turnaround times getting unbearable"
I hate to tell you this, but it looks like you joined just as many of us are getting ready to bail.

Please speak for yourself. While service has maybe become spotty lately, it cetainly isn't so bad that I would want to bail.
To answer the question at hand, the delivery of discs seems to be anywhere from 2-5 days depending on location. The standing protocol is that if a disc should not arrive (coming or going) after 7 days, you should notify GreenCine.
Here is where some of the current gripes have emerged. Anytime a disc does not arrive, it seems like response has been hard to come by. The good news is you can use these boards to vent/complain/raise an issue. |

Welcome KK! Yes, it'd be great if we could speak for ourselves here. My turnaround times have improved radically after some of the glitches a month or so ago (I'm in SF). About 2 days to get there 2-3 days to come back to me. So what DLeonard says above sounds about right. I think support has always answered me readily in the past so whatever obvious problems they were having last week also sound like they're back to fast again. Hopefully. And you can also use these boards to post stuff about movies/DVDs too! That would be a nice change. Welcome again. |

I've never used the boards before, but I was wondering what the hell was going on. Now I know.
I've been a member since 2002 and am sad to leave, but it's been weeks--worse than when I lived in Austin. |

Minty, can you clarify what the issue is, for you personally? Weeks for what? This would help us try to help you and help us, too. Have you had DVDs that never turned up? Did you write support? This would really help us out a lot. Sorry you've had troubles, but with this we can try to trace the issue. Thanks for your time.

I sent back a movie nearly two weeks ago, with no status updates. Since then, I've sent back 3/4 movies with still no status updates.
It's moot though, sorry--I just cancelled my account. Good luck. |

Sorry to hear that. Hope you'll come back soon. In a matter of days we're launching a new feature on the site which would help the delayed among you.
Did you ever email customer support after your discs were delayed 7 days, though? Just curious. |

I'm not trying to speak for anyone else, but I sincerely doubt, judging from the boards, that I'm the only one to consider leaving--or to have already done so. I'd be curious to know how many old-timers have actually gone elsewhere.
It's obviously a big decision for those of us who have been here for the last few years. Greencine was the little company that could, the alternative to the impersonal big guy. I don't think anyone really wants to jump ship. But at what point is it no longer worth waiting for things to improve? I can't be the only one who's been feeling jerked around. |

Thanks all,It says now that the two were shipped out.I live in Spingfield M.O. I would be cool with 4-5 days even. This site seems to have alot more DVDs that I would want to see.Unlike NF.

Welcome to the discussion boards, KKelleman!
Some of us are very happy to see new posters who actually want to talk about movies.
My advice is to add a lot more movies to your queue so you're never in a situation where there's nothing for Greencine to ship you.

I live in Nashua, NH. Discs shipped from GC to me usually takes 3 days. Discs returned to GC usually takes 4 days.
As long as you have realistic expectation on the shipping time, you'll do fine. Most of those people whining and bitching here are from San Francisco area, who were spoiled by the 1-day shipping time they used to get.

Agreed. I get 2~3 day turnaround and am more than happy. I love my GC selection, and even if the turnaround were longer, I'd still be content. Now if you don't mind, I think I'm gonna go watch Shortbus tonight :) |
