If your quick return option isn't open yet, it means the disc has not arrived. As always, please let us know if this is the case and you're itching to quick return your current rentals, and we'll be happy to help you out. |

| I'm wondering if this feature is working correctly myself. None of the three discs I've quick returned are marked as received. I know I sent Air Guitar Nation back a week ago. |

That's what I am thinking. This is the 7th day and 5th day for the two disc I've mailed back. In the past few weeks they would have received in 2-3 days. Now both of them are stuck in 'quick returned' status. I have a feeling something is not working correctly. |

Still, this is proof positive that the company listens to its customers.
Bravo.
If our government were this responsive....

Two of mine (the two oldest ones) are now marked as returned, so either the USPS was just being really slow with the returns, or something sticky was unstuck today in the quick return process.

Same here. I've since seen one of the DVD's that were sent "early", and already mailed it back today. 2 previously watched movies are *still* in quick return status and were sent back 5-6 days ago.
sigh... I'm really trying to stick around as a fairly long time user but this whole change has not worked out in my benefit so far.
I really love you guys BUT I can't help but pine for the good old days. I'm not sure how long I am willing to wait for this to work out, but I'm not a happy camper for the past few months...

| have you fixed it yet?? I've returned 6 dvds so far since you've implemented the quick return feature and your system says none of them have been received yet. This is getting rediculous. |

man... this is troublesome! ever since they moved buildings, i have had no luck with my Greencine support/membership!
i have written to Customer Service and nothing.... no reply, no nothing
why am i crying?
because it takes 7+ days to get a movie back from the day i put it in the mailbox!
Even with the Quick Return i am sensing there is something amiss with GC...
the OTHER companies offering similar services have movies back within 2-3 days TOPS....
3 months ago, I used to be able to get up to three full sets in one week!!!
what the hell?

So basically, we just have to deal with it until the bug is fixed?

I suspect the bug will be fixed by the time of your next billing date.

| actually, now my queue has been fixed. so I guess the lesson is that emailing support is useless, but posting on the boards greases the wheels pretty darn quick. Personally I am happy my queue got fixed but I have to wonder about sending that kind of message to customers. These boards should be flooded with requests in no time... |

Ok, I'll bite. Two days ago I mailed support to find out the date my billing cycle ends, so I can either decrease the size of my plan or put my account on hold and actually know when that would go into effect. Still waiting for a reply, so I'll just post it here.
And, just so I'm on topic, I sent back a movie 7 days ago via Quick Return and it's still not showing up as having been received, so hey guys, fix my queue please.

Sorry about the mention about the "bug" - seemed to throw people off especially because it's associated with a new feature. It wasn't quite a bug but an error in the check-in process that affected quick returned items checked in during a short period of time. The fix has been implemented as of yesterday, but do please continue to email us at support@greencine.com if you have a quick returned item sitting in your queue for 7 or more days.

That's right folks. It is not a bug. It is a feature... that didn't quite work.
Actually, I figured out what went wrong. I have three titles already stuck in 'Quick Return' slots for around one week. In the mean time, the fourth title (which I received quickly by invoking 'quick return') was returned on Monday and received today (Friday).
So the bug, I mean 'feature' is quite obvious. When GC received a title, their inventory management system only checks the return against 'currently checked out' titles, and not against the 'quick returned' titles. That's why the 'quick returned' slots are never freed up, even though those title are already received. At the same time, the 'Current Checked Out' slots are still moving as usual.

Likewise here. The 'Quick Return' titles I had returned about 9-10 days ago were all shown as returned in my rental history as of yesterday.
I'm thinking I will not use 'quick return' for a few weeks and see if the comments on it improve. |
