Every search i make of the catalog simply returns me to the main page. Is there a problem with the website? Or is the problem at my end?
Thanks for any help! |

Hey there, we were gonna post about this but you beat me to it -- after a site maintenance and restart late yesterday the search engine encountered problems and is currently inoperable. We have a team of GC Elves working on it round the clock and hope to have it back up very soon.
Meanwhile, what we recommend is using Google: i.e., Search: "Casablanca GreenCine.com" and you should get the title or person in our catalog. Not ideal but works as a stopgap. Thanks for your patience! |

I think Google can be even more specific if you use "site:" such as:
Casablanca site:greencine.com
This limits the search to only Greencine's website.

Sorry about this, but search should be back up later today. Please feel free to ask for any titles to be added to your queue by emailing customer support. Thanks for your patience! |

| Also: While we work on the regular search issue, you CAN use the advanced search (see link under search box). That advanced search seems to be working fine. Thanks! |

My problem is that I can move around greencines menu but not search. I have searched or tried to get information on a certain movie only to be stuck in a search mode, but move away and boy the change is almost instantaneously. If I wait long enough it closes me out. This makes it hard when searching for titles to rent. Any suggestions? I've used to genre menu but then you have to go page by page. I know the movie I'm looking for, but am unable to do the search for it. |

Just to be clear, are you having this problem when you use the "advanced search" option too? It seems like that is generally working much better these days while we work to improve the main search. Let us know -- and also. which operating system and browser?
And yeah do let us know if you can't use advanced search http://www.greencine.com/advancedSearch too.
At the *very* worst, and this isn't a great answer I know, but it works, is to search Google, using: GreenCine.com + name of movie.
Sorry you're having such trouble! We'll try to get to the bottom of it. |

| Testing it out just now on Safari and on Firefox, for the Mac, both types of search seemed to work okay. Maybe there was an outage yesterday? Please do tell us more details of your issue so we can at least try to trace it. Thanks! |

| Kemamo, you can also email support (support (at) greencine (dot) com) which title you'd like to have added to your queue and we can do it for you. |

| I'm currently having the same problem; granted my account is currently on hold (due to unfortunate work & life commitments), but I've been checking back periodically, however when I tried searching the catalog for some items, it took me right back to the main page. What gives?? |

I've had the same problem all week, and my account is not on hold. |

| Sorry guys, trust me it's nothing personal ;-) the search is indeed down and we're working at trying to get it back up. We did a site fix/rebuild last week which fixed several other things but seems to have made search capabilities take a nap. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to rectify this asap. Meanwhile, though, you should be able to find things on the GC site by using Google: i.e., "film title/person name + greencine.com" That should work as a temporary solution til we get it back up. Thanks. |

Sorry, duh, an even easier way to do it: Go to Google. Use title + "site:greencine.com" and voila.
i.e., Something Wild (Criterion) site:greencine.com
Again, not ideal, but until it's all good again... |

| After a fix last night GC search should be back up and running again. Give it a whirl, let us know if you find anything amiss. Thanks again. |

Sorry about that, we're currently fixing the problem - search and advanced search should be up shortly.
