Hello All,
I've been a member for about a year. For the longest time, I had two Fassbinder films, Whity and Katzelmacher at the top of my queue. They stayed yellow and I never got either. I finally broke down and bought Katzelmacher. That said, I'm not the biggest rewatcher of films or DVD collector.
Question: Would Greencine accept donations of red/yellow/OOP DVDs from members? I'd be happy to ship my Katzelmacher DVD off to Greencine and know that it let other members get a rare title faster.
If yes: Would any other members be interested shipping red/yellow/OOP DVD to Greencine? The value of physical media is dropping like crazy and we could help ourselves and GC offer the best in indie entertainment.
thanks, beatnikscm
p.s. Anybody wanna donate Fassbinder's Whity? |

I've long thought that Greencine should give up failing to compete and become a .org, with pledge drives, etc. Donated DVDs would fit right in. But donations to a supposedly for profit enterprise is a little weird.

| Hi beatnkscm, we'd love to take it but since we are aren't a non-profit you don't get a tax benefit. I'd be happy to pay for shipping for you though, message me if interested. Thanks and Happy New Year's! |

The Fassbinder DVD is on its way to GreenCine... I guess this thread did not instigate a rash of DVD donations, but you can't blame a guy for trying!

There must be a better solution to the Yellow/Orange/Red problem.
The current system is beyond flawed. Please fire whomever created it and stands by it and hire someone who will fix it. I have hundreds of titles this color on my list and most have not changed color in over FIVE YEARS!!!!!!!
