Well it looks like it's time to say "sayonara"...

It's gotten to the point with my queue that I only have 5 Green titles remaining, and even those appear to be unavailable since it has now been almost a week since my last "quick return" and GC has not mailed anything to me.

Since I've already prepaid for the month of November, I might as well stick around for a few more weeks, but I don't expect anything will get sent out regardless.

I knew they were skipping some of my Greens, but mostly any title previously that was Green in my queue was usually shipped to me. But I guess I've ran out this string with Greencine as far as it can go; I've pretty much exhausted every title I want from them that was unavailable from NF, my Library, or any other source. Too bad that whomever has taken over this company has no desire to keep it competitive...I guess the days of the DVD rental really are winding to a close. Get what you can here, folks, because I don't think GC is gonna around too much longer. If they DID have plans to remain relevant, I think they would have tried to please their customers by at least replenishing SOME of the titles they allow them to place in their rental queues, but no... Sadly, I guess I'll have to buy, trade, or otherwise get the over-225 non-Green titles I'd hope to receive here...but no such luck.

Anyway, nice knowing the few of you I've encountered on these discussion boards, and once again I'll repeat my offer that if anyone wants to trade copies of hard-to-get films with me, you can contact me at Blumphf@hotmail.com. I have a lot of out-of-print stuff on DVD, and am always looking to get more.

Adios!

I've already cancelled, as of Oct 26, but even though they haven't billed me for November, I still show as active, and can access my account. I have the impression this is their SOP, to continue carrying subscribers for one month post-cancellation, hoping they might change their mind. Theoretically my account will disappear by November 26.

I was surprised to see these two new posts here, yours and the one from Artifex in the long "Likely Answer" thread, because a few days ago I noticed that the red "Discussion Forum" access link had disappeared from the left-hand column where it always used to be, I think right below the green "All Genres" link. I figured a GC staffer finally looked at all of our seditious posts, and got pissed, wiping out access to these boards. Or did it disappear only from my own display? Of course it can still be accessed through the "Community" button at the top of the display, but I never used that method before.

So did the red link down in the left column disappear from everyone's display? I'm really curious.

(For some reason, page refresh is working very quickly here today. That's always handy.)

Wow, it's gotten that bad huh?? I've had my account suspended for a bit, but still check it out/my queue to compare what titles they had that Netflix didn't, and have (/had??) been planning to renew it. When Netflix dropped the ball raising their prices, I referred a lot of disgruntled customers here (granted, I wouldn't be surprised if Netflix bought them out, to kill the "competition"). I also like that GC lists what titles they have that ARE out of print, so you can know to prioritize them or not (as opposed to Netflix, where you wouldn't know if something was out of print, and it'd just go "Saved"/unavailable with no notice.

My problem however was always that SO MANY discs were Yellow, Orange, Blue, Red, and thus you'd be having to wait months for& as opposed to just a week from Netflix.

Anyone with any other complaints, I'm all ears! Just don't wanna refer any more friends if it really has gotten that bad so soon!!

Wow, I guess I kind of answered my own what-else-is-wrong? question there, huh?? Tried to post it once, and since apparently since the comment was taking over 5 minutes to post, I accidentally posted it again (sucks too, that this user-unfriendly site seems to have no way to edit/remove old comments&).

Guess someone at the company decided to cut corners on the website by downgrading to a dial-up connection??
