Usually, when the next item in my queue gets ready to be shipped, it says "released to shipping monkey". Now it only says "released to shipping"

Where'd the monkey go?

for a while, more than one monkey was doing it. then, the extra "s" was too long so they fired the monkeys and the shipping work is done by The Plaid Scarf That Has No Name.

no, wait, it says here they didn't fire the monkeys, they're using them to build a fleet of CD hovercraft that will one day replace the USPS.

"monkeys" recently evolved into humans, out of respect for the position. Since any of us GC staffers are equally prone to flinging crap and hanging from our tails, it really didn't seem right to keep calling them that. We're all a little monkey inside.

(We did change it to "Shipping Lemurs" but that didn't have the right ring to it.)

I want my monkey back!

Actually, I know where the monkey went. Look at the "Shipping History" page at the right time and you'll see him.

This is a common misconception perpetuated by creationist imbeciles. It is more correct to say that monkeys and humans share a common ancestor.

Ah, you nitpicking Darwinist! ;-)

Yes, good point, and in some cases there's plenty of evidence that monkeys are actually ahead of many clans of the human race (i.e., executives at UPN, loyal listeners of the Michael Savage show, etc)

Anyway.
