	It's All About Love (2002)
Critics mostly didn't like this film, but if you saw and liked The Fountain, then you should enjoy this. Beautiful and haunting. Set in the near future so it looks almost the present, but where people die in the streets from heartache and patches of Uganda lose gravity.
	Code 46 (2003)
I think one of the most perfect movies I've ever seen. Samantha Morton is a truly underrated talent.
	The Fountain (2006)
Surreal and confusing, but where love truly transcends time for one man (Hugh Jackman) who can't accept when his love (Rachel Weisz) dies from cancer.
	Blade Runner Final Cut: Special Edition (1982)
What can be said about this film that hasn't already been said? None of the others on this list would probably exist if not for Blade Runner.
	Logan's Run (1976)
Unconventional and at times hard to get over the dated effects, but worth it.

It's never really a romantic love between the hero and heroine, but more that of mentor-mentee.
	A Scanner Darkly (2006)
The animation gets in the way of the story at times and the ending left much to me desired, but far above the average Hollywood flick.

It is unbelievable how different this is from the novel that inspired it (and I think better for it). His love dies and most of the movie is about him trying to be the man she always thought he could be.
	Dark City (1998)
It's never clear if this is set in the future or an alternate present, but considering aliens have taken humans on a trip through the cosmos in a manufactured world, I included it here.
	The Handmaid's Tale (1990)
A true classic of modern cinema and literature that paints a bleak (and very plausible) future.
	12 Monkeys (Collector's Edition) (1995)
Although set mostly in the present (now the past), the hero has been sent from the dystopic future to try and save the human race and falls in love, ultimately leading to his death.
	Gattaca (1997)
Beautifully written, directed, and acted.
	1984 (1984)
A future where 2 people find freedom with each other and pay a supreme price.
	Strange Days (1995)
One man thinks he is protecting his love, only to find she is part of the crime and doesn't love him (though someone he has overlooked does).
