peter jackson's first. not only does he play two roles in the film but there is actually a fight scene between the two. the production is horrible but if you don't have a sweet spot for this little gem then you are a sad, sad person.

this movie is much more gory than i ever would have expected. the first three "rambos" are put to shame. the last 20 minutes is priceless.

Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002)
the gore in this movie is spread thin throughout and is short and sweet when it does happen but this movie is much, much more than that. it is often unfairly overlooked. the inferior sequel (OLDBOY) in the thematic vengeance trilogy gets more credit but this is a top-notch film that will stand the test of time.

tread lightly as this film contains one of the longest and most brutal rape scenes i have ever witnessed. gore is not lengthy but i thought it worth mentioning. it tries (and in my opinion succeeds) to reach out further, past it's exploitative roots.

yes, i was surprised as well. this movie is rather gory. the best for me was when grendel rips a man in half and drinks the blood from the lifeless half-corpse. even though i hate angelina jolie i'd still watch it again.
