List creator: BrodiesGirl
Created on: June 11, 2003 - 12:47 AM PDT
Description: With so much CGI (some of it very cool, but most of it overused) there is something to be said about the ingenuity of claymation, puppetry, and animatronics, art forms that are dwindling fast.

Who didn't want to take a ride on Falkor and ride with Atreyu after watching this?
Return to Oz (1985)
Creepy, mysterious and scary, oh my! Much closer to the Frank L. Baum books than the 1939 Technicolor classic, this flick features a young Fairuza Balk as Dorothy.
Labyrinth (1986)
Dance Magic Dance! A young Jennifer Connelly makes a deal with the Goblin King (David Bowie) and now must search for her infant brother in the winding labyrinth. Music numbers by Bowie are classic, but please change those tight purple spandex pants!
Meet the Feebles (1989)
Wow. Puppets that do coke, have sex and swear. The brilliant imagination of Peter Jackson brings these crazy New Zealand puppets to life.
The Witches (1990)
A classic book gets classy treatment in this dark tale. Still a great watch.
