	Limbo (1999)
True independent filmmaker John Sayles bucks the system once again, as he provides another film that reminds us of the importance of family, place, and storytelling.
	Brazil (Criterion Collection) (1985)
Director Terry Gilliam had to threaten to burn all the negatives in his fight with the studio in order to keep the ending as he envisioned. One of the bonus discs contains the butchered studio version, which was sometimes seen on TV.
	The Wicker Man (Extended Version) (1974)
Cult classic involving a British detective who visits a local island after receiving a mysterious letter about a young girl's disappearance. A little campy today, but still terrifically creepy.
	Solaris (Criterion Collection) (1972)
Director Andrei Tarkovsky said that he liked making his "slow and boring" films. This thoughtful, haunting film of odd goings-on at a space station culminates in a truly wonderful end and leaves the viewer mesmerized and questioning the nature of love.
	2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
More strange happenings in outer space. A science fiction masterpiece by Stanley Kubrick in close collaboration with writer Arthur C. Clarke.
	Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)
Another Kubrick masterpiece. A very black comedy about nuclear war. Truly superb performances by Peter Sellers, Sterling Hayden, and George C. Scott. Scott later complained that Kubrick tricked him to perform "over the top."
	Invasion of the Body Snatchers (Collector's Edition) (1978)
Saw it as a kid and to this day remember the chilling final scene. Even better than the original movie by the same name.
	The Usual Suspects (1995)
Fun modern film noir crime thriller with interesting technique and top notch cast. But who IS Keyser Soze? This movie is so good that finding out is only half the fun.
	Ghost World (2001)
Sweet and unconventional all the way through.
	The Cook, the Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover (1989)
Disturbing and greusome black-as-night comedy with a terrific cast, fantastic direction (Peter Greenaway) and cinematography.
	The Crying Game (1992)
Beautiful, artful, thoughful, surprising. If you were in a coma during 1992 and don't know "the secret" then rent it now.
	Memento (2000)
Another one you have probably seen. But of course on a list of great movies with great endings I have to include Memento - a film where the ending is at the beginning, but it doesn't make any sense until the end which is actually the beginning.
	Dark City (1998)
OK - I confess the VERY last scene is a tad lacking. However, it is still a fun, creepy sci-fi psychological thriller. And discovering what is really going on is a real trip.
