Description: You don't have to screen a Kurosawa movie to see a Kurosawa movie! Apologies to johelinedvd and Cinenaut for duplicating some of their lists.

Throne of Blood (Criterion Collection) (1957)

Scarface (Anniversary Edition) (1983)
12345678910
Compare the final moments of Lord Washizu and Tony Montana. Is this an homage or what? Two very cool films.
Seven Samurai (Criterion Collection) (1954)
12345678910
The Magnificent Seven (1960)
12345678910
Ah, the magnificent scenery! The magnificent music! Which is easier to understand, Yul's English or Toshiro's Japanese? At least this is not theft, but a tribute.
A Bug's Life (1998)
12345678910
When you see those nasty grasshoppers walk out of the fog, you don't need the "guns for hire" plot to tell you this is recycling Kurosawa! What's more remarkable is the wholesale stealing of images from Microcosmos.
The 13th Warrior (1999)
12345678910
More like the 13th Ripoff. Viking style Seven Samurai, complete with rain soaked battle scenes.
Yojimbo (Criterion Collection) (1961)
12345678910
Not Rated
A Fistful of Dollars (1964)
12345678910
A loving remake of Yojimbo. Ennio Morricone's lovely score is VERY original!
Runaway Train (1985)
12345678910
A film made from an unproduced Kurosawa script! However, I'm certain that the final image of Jon Voigt is stolen from the ending of John Carpenter's 1974 SciFi classic Dark Star.
