Legend: Ultimate Edition (Disc 1 of 2) (Director's Cut) (1985)
Another good Goldsmith score for a Ridley Scott movie, which was jettisoned from the US version
Planet of the Apes (1968)
Goldsmith reportedly wore an ape mask while conducting the score for this film
Chinatown (1974)
One of the best noir scores ever composed
L.A. Confidential (1997)
Another good Goldsmith noir score (say that five times fast!)
The Omen (1976)
It is a well-photographed movie and has that neat decapitation scene, but I think the score's better than the movie
Seconds (Criterion) (1966)
Seconds gets my vote for the film with the scariest Goldsmith score, and it's a great scary movie too
Poltergeist (1982)
Another good, spooky score (for some reason, the deceptively syrupy main theme gets me the most)
Basic Instinct (1992)
Not Rated
Not real fond of the movie (I'd rather rewatch Dressed To Kill or Body Double myself), but I like the score (which I'm listening to as I write this)
Gremlins (1984)
Fun score in which Goldsmith really works in a different mode than these other scores (see also: Gremlins 2 and several other Joe Dante films)
Matinee (1992)
Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003)
Patton (1970)
I haven't seen this film in years, but I remember the famous trumpet flourish really well
Total Recall (1990)
Why didn't Arnold use this film's main theme for his campaign theme music? :)
