Kung Fu Hustle (2004)
12345678910
Best movie ever. I don't wanna hear any arguments.
Cowboy Bebop: Session 1 (1998)
12345678910
  The best anime there is.
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie (2001)
12345678910
Here's an especially cool movie, deserving a special mention beyond the series. You should have seen this a long time ago.
Kimagure Orange Road TV Series vol.1 (1987)
12345678910
The other best show there is. ESP, romance, intrigue and true love! It would be better with pancakes, but not by much.
Outlaw Star Vol. 1 (Disc 1 of 2) (1998)
12345678910
Not Rated
The other other best show there is. Another bounty hunter, but this time, he's on a quest! Easily as engaging as Cowboy Bebop, but not episodic. Nearly, nearly as good as CB, but not quite.
Fushigi Yugi: The Mysterious Play - Suzaku Box (Season 1) (Disc 1 of 4) (1995)
12345678910
Not Rated
My favorite shoujo anime, hands down.
FLCL (Fooly Cooly) Vol. 1 (2000)
12345678910
Not Rated
Awesome soundtrack, but that's the last reason to watch this. It's a blast. Serves only two episodes per disc, but each is incredible.
Hyper Police: Episodes 1-4 (1998)
12345678910
Fantasy. Interesting. Cute. Funny. Generally good. Check it out if you haven't already.
Oh My Goddess! DVD Vol. 1 (1993)
12345678910
Good, sweet, and beautiful. The show's good too. Short, but good. See the movie, too!
Ah! My Goddess vol. 1: Always and Forever (2005)
12345678910
Not Rated
The TV series based on the manga. Better than the OVA? Maybe. It's definately longer.
Chobits Vol. 1: Persocom (2003)
12345678910
Not Rated
I know what you're thinking: another robot maid anime. Well, you're wrong! Chi (leading robot) isn't a maid. She's a computer that can do housework. Other than that, Clamp's version of the robot maid genre is worth a good, long look.
Carried by the Wind: Tsukikage Ran Vol. 1 - A Tale of Two Travelers (2002)
12345678910
Not Rated
Humorous romp through the Edo-era countryside of Japan. With lots of sake. What's not to like?
Azumanga Daioh Vol. 1: Entrance!
12345678910
Not Rated
A contender for "best school comedy ever"; its only competiton is School Rumble, which isn't yet available in America.
Ai Yori Aoshi Vol. 1: Faithfully Yours (2003)
12345678910
Not Rated
It takes a sudden, suspicious turn in the last episode on this disc, but don't worry! It's still a great show.
The Slayers - DVD Collection (Disc 1 of 4) (2000)
12345678910
Not Rated
A traditional fantasy anime, but very well executed.
Slayers: The Book of Spells (2001)
12345678910
A different approach to the Slayers. I have to mention that Linna's English voice is one of the better voice actresses I've heard. Naga's laugh is annoying... but it's supposed to be. I liked these even more than the tv series!
Inu Yasha Vol. 1: Down the Well (2002)
12345678910
Not Rated
Another great story from Rumiko Takahashi. Gets continually better, especially once it reaches the second season.
Please Teacher! Vol. 1: Hot for Teacher (2003)
12345678910
Not Rated
This surprised me a bit. Its fairly bizarre premise leads to a surprisingly emotional plot. Although it's not without the obligitory fan service.
Read or Die (2003)
12345678910
Not Rated
Style enough to paint a museum with, now on DVD!
R.O.D. the TV Series vol. 1: The Paper Sisters (2004)
12345678910
Not Rated
Three papers aren't really better than one... but there's more of them. The dub isn't as good as the OVA's, but it's passable.
Full Metal Panic! Mission 01 (2003)
12345678910
Not Rated
The first of three animes - Full Metal Panic!, Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, and Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid. The ones with the "!" are action-centric, the "?" is a comedy, and I highly recommend them all.
Fullmetal Alchemist vol. 1: The Curse (2005)
12345678910
Not Rated
A powerful story about life, death, and power. Don't forget about the movie once the TV series ends.
Kino's Journey Vol. 1: Idle Adventurer (2004)
12345678910
The episodes mostly stand by themselves, and often contain multiple stories that may or may not be connected. And it's totally awesome!
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (2000)
12345678910
Spooky vampire fighting blood death! The animation is awesome, and the fighting sequences are some of the best.
Someday's Dreamers Vol. 1: Magical Dreamer
12345678910
Not Rated
Yume is training to become a mage. Features great character development, and it looks just beautiful.
Boogiepop Phantom Vol. 1 (2000)
12345678910
Not Rated
Great great soundtrack. I've had trouble keeping track of the story at times, but I can tell that it's really good.
X Vol. 1: One (2002)
12345678910
Did I mention that I love Clamp? Well I do. You should too! This is the proof.
Berserk Vol. 1: War Cry (2002)
12345678910
I love that ultra-violence, I do. Here's the violence done right, with a powerful story backing it up.
Galaxy Angel Vol. 1: What's Cooking? (2004)
12345678910
Not Rated
They're all just so darn cute!
3x3 Eyes: Immortals (1991)
12345678910
Not Rated
Is it a love story, or a demon story? It's a good story, at least.
Betterman Vol. 1: The Awakening (2001)
12345678910
Lots of tech. Giant robots, giant monsters, and a psychic moe girl that predicts lots of doom.
Battle Royale (2001)
12345678910
Violence against children. What could possibly be wrong with that? (surprisingly, not much)
Firefly - The Complete Series (Disc 1 of 4) (2002)
12345678910
Not Rated
What? A sci-fi show with a really good story? Inconceivable!
Kung Pow Enter the Fist (2002)
12345678910
  It's so good, it's gnodab.
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998)
12345678910
It's just interesting how it all falls into place.
O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000)
12345678910
Based on Homer's Odyssey. Sort of. Great fun.
Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie (2003)
12345678910
That's funny, right there, that is. Ya didn' bring some popcorn witchadidja?
Robot Chicken: Vol. 1 (Disc 1 of 2) (2005)
12345678910
Not Rated
I don't know what's so great about this. It's just really funny.
Karas: The Prophecy (2005)
