	Blade Runner (Director's Cut) (1982)
I know I'm in the minority here, but for me, the movie hinges at the point where Hauer has Ford's life in his hands, and for some reason I can't quite put my finger on, the orignal version does more to build up to that moment for me
	Apocalypse Now: Redux (2001)
Added scenes, stronger narrative flow, more context; does not add up to a better movie. Part of the glory of the original was the scattered, tumultuous descent into darkness; this is more like a Disney ride.
	Blood Simple (1984)
more things made right in the director's cut, the more wrong the movie; the choppiness, rough editing, etc. were its delights; the new soundtrack with appropriate music doesn't work. the bad Monkee's cover in a southern bar worked because it didn't
	Apocalypse Now (1979)
Coppola wanted simple black credits at the end; the studio insisted on a bombing sequence on the camp; Coppola gave in; the black credits work better; it's the director's ending that wasn't.
	Brazil (Criterion Collection) (1985)
American orig. release vs. the Final director's cut. Some dream scenes have been consolidated; pre-info retrieval scenes have been added. I felt the former made the final sequence more sensible initially, then more confusing, then more bitter & shocking
	Conan the Barbarian (1982)
Good: re-color balanced night scenes; elaborated Tree of Woe and sneaking into Mt. Doom; Bad: Superfluous additions; Ulgy: New scene with Conan and Thief talking about the grass and wind. Horrible: changed end narration; ends movie on wrong tone; 5 now 4
	Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977)
I haven't seen it myself personally, but from countless testamonials: 'the worst example of a director changing his movie for the worst'
	E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (1982)
Just the commerial of the "more life-like digital" E.T. is enough to put it on this list. And ain't those gov agents more menacing with their flashlights!
