Watching this anime will make your head explode. My particular favorite moment is the manga scene in episode 1. The subtitles go by so quick that you can't possibly read them all. Whee!
	Moulin Rouge (2001)
I didn't realize this was a musical when I started watching this. Combined with the crazy visuals, I was in a state of shock throughout the whole film.
	Dancer in the Dark (2000)
The most depressing film ever, combined with music by Bjork, and "hey, look that's Joel Grey!"

It's a drama, a comedy, a romance, an introduction to early 20th century Chinese history, and the final action scene makes my heart beat fast every time I see it.
	Happiness of the Katakuris (2001)
Another musical with some truly surreal moments. There are so many amazingly weird moments in this film it's hard to remember them all, and let's not forget the demented claymation.

Heavy metal for real. A demented gross-out.
	Ashes of Time (1994)
A slow-paced film with a plot so complicated that you really have to watch it more than once. Here the overload is mental, trying to figure out all the connections.

A classic Stephen Chow non-stop gag-fest. There are chunks of the film that get me laughing out loud for 10 minutes straight.
	The Pillow Book (1996)			Not Rated
The drama, the music, the sex, the calligraphy. Have fun trying to keep up with those split screen portions that show the same scene, but from multiple angles and at different points in time. But the overall effect is beautiful.
