The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1989)
loaded with story, wonderful music, and simply awesome artistry... without a doubt, the best modern fantasy tale
Conan the Barbarian (1982)
the uber swords and sorcery film... "what is steel without the hand that wields it"
Legend: Ultimate Edition (Disc 2 of 2) (U.S. Theatrical Version) (1985)
unicorns, elves, goblins, and the coolest evil character in film (darkness as played by Tim Curry) absolutely unbelievable artistic production. note: the original version is much better than the director's cut on disk 1, in my opinion
The Dark Crystal (1982)
a fairytale epic that remains totally under rated because it's done with muppets...
Ladyhawke (1985)
a classic fantasy film with a great story and a horrendous soundtrack
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
it's almost perfect in it's rendition of the 1st part of the trilogy... flawed CG and cinematographic direction (yes, i am the heretic)
Excalibur (1981)
the best treatement of the arthurian legends on film... sweetly surreal...
Clash of the Titans (1981)
a weirdly unfaithful mix of greek legends but forgiven that a wonderous fantasy film
The Wizard of Oz (70th Anniversary Special Edition) (1939)
gratuitous, yes, but really... flying monkeys... what more do i need to say?
The Princess Bride (1987)
funny, witty, and ultimately a great fairytale... some of the most memorable moments in film
The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad (1958)
this epic fantasy was the best of Harryhausen's works...
Willow (1988)
much fun, but it would probably have been better if Ron "The Big Sap" Howard hadn't directed it
