The Irresponsible Captain Tylor - TV Series Vol. 1: Leave This to Me! (1997)
Not Rated
Why isn't this on any other lists? In Cpt. Tylor, as the theme song states, "Film is job one!"
Battle Angel (1992)
Not Rated
This is one of the finest OVA's of the '90's. These two cyberpunk episodes will rock your socks off - its better than the manga.
Plastic Little - The Adventures of Captain Tita (1994)
I really love the shiny plastic character design of this somewhat yuri title. Its a good movie, too!
Arcadia of My Youth (1982)
Not Rated
You're not an otaku till you've seen Captain Harlock. This is his finest film.
The Dagger of Kamui (1985)
Not Rated
I still haven't seen this, but my boyfriend demands we watch it ASAP.
Star Blazers - The Quest for Iscandar: Part I (Episodes 1-5) (2000)
This is where it all began! Many of today's anime standards and practices stem from this source material.
Sukeban Deka (1991)
Not Rated
Sukeban Deka is not the best thing ever, but the protagonist fights with a yo-yo, and I bet you haven't seen it yet.
Boys Over Flowers Vol. 1: Declaration of War (2003)
Not Rated
This series was around for many years before being liscensed. If you like Shojou, this show is totally awesome.
Haibane Renmei vol.1: New Feathers (2003)
Not Rated
If you haven't seen Haibane Renmei yet, its one of the most compelling new shows out there.
His and Her Circumstances Vol. 1: Appearance of a Normal Life (1998)
OK, so almost every has seen Kare Kano. But if you haven't, what are you waiting for?! Go out and buy the boxed set!
Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi Vol. 1 (2003)
This is one of my favorite series after His & Her Circumstances.
Sherlock Hound: Case File 1 (1984)
This is the one Miyazaki thing no one has really watched yet - including me.
Marmalade Boy: Ultimate Scrapbook Vol. 1 (Disc 1 of 3) (1994)
Not Rated
If you like Kodocha, you might like Marmalade Boy. It's more mellow than Kodocha, but the first disc at least is worth checking out.
Maison Ikkoku Box Set Vol. 1 (Disc 1 of 3) (1986)
Not Rated
A lesser-known series by the Ranma 1/2 manga-ka. I like it, but its pretty daunting to watch at 90+ episodes.
Project A-Ko (1986)
Not Rated
Project A-Ko changed my life forever. It's a terrific fan classic.
Ninja Scroll (1986)
Ninja Scroll is always playing at anime conventions, but have you watched it yet? It kind of defines the hard-boiled genre.
Gunsmith Cats: Bulletproof (2001)
Gunsmith Cats is what Noir wishes it was.
Video Girl Ai (2001)
Video Girl Ai is the finest robot-girlfriend-love-triangle show ever made! And easily watchable at only 6 episodes.
