Glengarry GlenRoss (1992)
12345678910
a mamet classic. solid performances from an amazing cast.
The House of Yes (1997)
12345678910
a delightfully strange dark comedy featuring parker posey as a deranged jackie kennedy wannabe. solid performances from freddie prinze jr. and tori spelling. whoda thought.
Tape (2001)
12345678910
richard linklater's digital experiment shot in one hotel room. an excellently written script that never lets you get a firm grasp on the characters' motivations. also wonderful is linklater's "subUrbia", which is not yet on dvd.
The Big Kahuna (1999)
12345678910
often overlooked film based on "the hospitality suite". peter fascinelli (the jock from can't hardly wait) plays a religious rookie salesman, and delivers an astounding performance.
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966)
12345678910
richard burton and elizabeth taylor acting like raving lunatics, and you love them for it. truly a classic.
12 Angry Men (Criterion) (1957)
12345678910
Not Rated
  sydney lumet at his best.
Titus (1999)
12345678910
the craziest shakespeare adaptation i have seen. also the most artistic. it's not just a modernization like baz's romeo and juliet, it fuses the time periods together. motorcycles in ancient rome, my friends.
You Can Count on Me (2000)
12345678910
this wasn't completely based on a play, but the movie was written around a short play that kenneth lonergan wrote. as a filmmaker, i am extremely jealous of this movie.
