Blow-Up (1966)
Not Rated
  Antonioni, Michelangelo. 'nuff said.
The Seventh Seal (Criterion Special Edition) (1957)
Bergman, Ingamr. the only movie to even come close to Citizen Kane. the work of a true genius.
The Last Emperor (1987)
Not Rated
Bertolucci, Bernardo. i don't even know where to begin with this one. too great for words.
Shadows (1959)
  Cassavetes, John. his improvised masterpiece.
Apocalypse Now: Redux (2001)
Coppola, Francis Ford. i cried the first time i say the Ride of the Valkyries scene, because i knew i'd never be able to film a scene as perfect as that.
Maya Deren: Experimental Films (2002)
Not Rated
Deren, Maya. without a doubt, the greatest director you've never heard of.
8 1/2 (Criterion Collection) (1963)
  Fellini, Federico. poetic, surreal, brilliant.
Vertigo (Special Edition) (1958)
Hitchcock, Alfred. he's not called the "master of suspence" without reason
2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
Kubrick, Stanley. slow moving film, but absolutely amazing.
Akira Kurosawa's Dreams (1990)
Kurosawa, Akira. tough call between this one and Rashomon, but the dance of the Peach Orchard wins out.
M (Criterion Collection) (1931)
Lang, Fritz. the greatest crime film ever. Peter Lorre's best performance.
Mulholland Dr. (2001)
Lynch, David. so strange. lynch's most confusing and brilliant work.
The Last Temptation of Christ (Criterion Collection) (1988)
Scorsese, Martin. i'm not really one to recomend religious movies, but you cannot argue with the acting and direction in this one. stunning.
Citizen Kane (1941)
Welles, Orson. greatest movie ever made!
Wings of Desire (Criterion) (1987)
Wenders, Wim. i think i almost like Far Away, So Close better, but you gotta watch this one first. it is truely a masterpeice.
