A lovely romance in a straightfaced parody of competitive ballroom dancing. Paul Mercurio and Tara Morice dance an exquisitely subtle rumba and a riveting paso doble.
	The Full Monty (1997)
Yeah so it's strip tease! But I laughed a lot as these blokes finally get their rhythm. It's a good film about letting go and feeling the music.
	Dance With Me (1998)
Vanessa Williams is a solid ballroom dancer and Chayanne burns the floor with his salsa. Silly plot but who cares? Also, the final competition scene has real professional ballroom dancers as competitors. The opening score is breathtaking.
	Tango (1998)
Not my favorite Argentine Tango movie (that goes to "Tango Bar", not out on DVD) but there are some awesome dance scenes by legendary dancers. This film is better than "The Tango Lesson."

Modern flamenco and gypsy music -- no frilly dresses here! My fav scene is an amazingly sexy dance in a moving bus in one of the Extras.
	Dirty Dancing (1987)
I *think* they're dancing nightclub two-step... What Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey lack in technique, they make up in fond memories of this classic movie about becoming an adult.
	Saturday Night Fever (1977)
I *know* they're dancing hustle. John Travolta and Karen Lynn Gorney don't have the modern flashiness in their dancing, but they do move well together. It's refreshing to see a good woman dancer who is not paper-thin.
	Flashdance (1983)
This is a sweet if improbable movie about following your muze. 18-year old welder by day, nightclub dancer by night, pursuing a dream to join the ballet academy. I love the score by Irene Cara and the final audition dance scene.
	Footloose (1984)
Kevin Bacon teaches his left-footed best friend how to find the rhythm.
	Billy Elliot (2000)
A grittier movie about following your dream. Jamie Bell's dancing is raw but passionate -- hey, we all have to start somewhere, right?
	The Rocky Horror Picture Show (25th Aniversary Edition) (1975)
Le-e-et's do-o-o the Time Warp, aga-a-ain! ;-) C'mon, a campy film that made you dance in the aisles at midnight (whether or not you were in drag) DESERVES to be on this list, right?
	The Breakfast Club (1985)
Ok, not a dance movie per se, but I absolutely love that scene where everyone is dancing in the library. This is another great film about loosening up and becoming friends and bonding through music and movement.
	Pulp Fiction (1994)
That one scene where John Travolta and Uma Thurman are dancing is jaw-droppingly sexy. Travolta still has that magic.
	Scent of a Woman (1992)
Al Pacino dancing tango by feel and music. Not my favorite tango scene (I prefer Argentine to American style) but many of my ballroom dancing friends love it.
