Pistol Opera (2002)
Not Rated
Completely nonsensical, but visually gorgeous and endlessly symbolic (not to mention just plain weird.)
Happiness of the Katakuris (2001)
The best zombie family drama part-claymation musical ever made.
Female Convict Scorpion - Jailhouse 41 (1972)
Not Rated
A bit sadistic for my tastes, but the visuals are trippy, and Meiko Kaji delivers a great performance.
Pulse (Kairo) (2001)
Atmosphere so thick you could bottle it, and a deep philosophical rumination on how the internet actually can make us more disconnected.
Suicide Club (2002)
Not Rated
Not 100% successful blend of lowbrow horror and highbrow surrealism. nice subtext concerning how the media manipulates the innocent, thogh.
Black Tight Killers (1966)
Not Rated
Most "way out" 60s films aren't nearly as entertaining as you wish they were. This one is. Four words: Hot Female Golf Ninja.
Uzumaki (2000)
Not Rated
Loads of atmosphere, some genuinely unsettling, dreamlike imagery, and a vague (but oddly satifying) conclusion.
