No, I've never read the book, but this movie has some great things going for it. Meryl Streep gives another effortless perfomance and the script was done by Richard LaGravenese ("Unstrung Heroes" & "Living Out Loud")

James Garner, Brian Kerwin, Sally Field love triangle directed by Martin Ritt.
	Return to Me (2000)
Totally unbelievable storyline, but adorable cast and performances.
	Roxanne (1987)
A great script by Steve Martin, updating the Cyrano de Bergerac tale. Great supporting work from Michael J. Pollard and others.
	Terms of Endearment (1983)
Based on a book by Larry McMurty, with outstanding performances all around. I cry buckets whenever I see this.
