Description: Guarenteed to make you think, spin, laugh, or just turn off the telly in disgust of the images or pretense. Some of my favorite films. Unavailable that should be on list include: The Wild Wild World of Jane Mansfield, The Reflecting Skin, Salo.

Possession (1981)
pretentious in a really fun way. If you don't find any reasons to laugh, you have no sense of humour.
I Will Walk Like a Crazy Horse (1973)
Arrabal father of the panic theatre. Panic theatre was his response to Breton and the surrealists.
Fando & Lis (1967)
Jodorowski barely escaped with his life during the film festival in Mexico that first premiered this film. Originally a play in Arrabal's panic theatre. See Holy Mountain & Santa Sangre - also by Jodorowski and two of my favorites are not easily availab
Viva la Muerte (1971)
Not Rated
Everything you want from a surrealist shocker - powerful images, strong religious iconography, repulsion, sacrilege, anti-fascism, all told seen and told through the eyes of a little boy.
The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (Criterion Collection) (1972)
Wanted to pick Bunuel's Exterminating Angel, but not available. Most have seen this film, but always rewarding. Of course, everyone should see the films he did with Dali.
Songs from the Second Floor (2000)
Not Rated
Poison (1991)
Early Todd Haynes. Far From Heaven is my favorite movie of his, but not for this list. Poison fits the bill.
Begotten (1991)
Not Rated
Don't be afraid to change the soundtrack or create your own. A few recommendations - Nurse with Wound, Coil, Zoviet France.
Written on the Wind (Criterion Collection) (1956)
Not Rated
Over the top and hilarious. Captures the obsurdity of 50's social norms.
Allegro Non Troppo (1976)
  Much more interesting than Fantasia.
Tetsuo: The Iron Man (1989)
Not Rated
Gets better with every viewing. Deserves special treatment when it arrives on dvd (hopefully sooner than later).
Society (1989)
Not Rated
Let the shunting begin. Are you a good member of society?
The Mystery of Rampo (1994)
  Overlooked gem.
The Beast (1975)
Not Rated
Monster porn. a bit slow for the set-up, but what a climax. Best in a full theater slightly altered.
Waking Life (2001)
As a pure thinking film, wanted to pick Machine Dreams ( I hope it makes it to dvd someday), but this will have to do for this list.
