If I had to pick a favorite anime ever, this would probably be it. There is so much angst in it, complete with several love triangles, betrayal, and bishounen >.<. The plot is awesome and touching. ::sniff::
	His and Her Circumstances Vol. 1: Appearance of a Normal Life (1998)
Very angsty series, several cute moments but has an unfinished ending. If you watch the series and end up liking it I recommend you read the manga. Of course, the manga takes a horrible unspeakable strange turn at the end.
	Marmalade Boy: Ultimate Scrapbook Vol. 1 (Disc 1 of 3) (1994)			Not Rated
This has to be one of the best romance animes of all time. Lots of love triangles, lots of cheese, very good. The manga is also excellent, but shorter and more to the point.
	Fruits Basket vol.1: A Great Transformation? (2002)			Not Rated
No real romance in this anime, but plenty of near romantic angsty moments. Another series with no conclusion, fans are turning to the manga which apparently has also taking a turn towards death and destruction. It is still a very good series with an interesting premise.
	Boys Over Flowers Vol. 1: Declaration of War (2003)			Not Rated
A w e s o m e!! This anime differs from regular romance anime because it is very erm.. violent... but not in the big battling robots dueling swordsman way. The animation is hard to get used to but the plot is so good it doesn't even matter. The manga goes beyond the anime but does not provide a good conclusion. Check out the soap operas too.
	Magic User's Club OVA Vol. 1: I'll Follow You! (1995)			Not Rated
Cute anime, lots of fanservice (not a plus IMO) plenty of cheese. The main male character is not someone fan girls should swoon for but ehh... still a good anime. I liked the series better than the OVA.
	Kimagure Orange Road TV Series vol.1 (1987)
Looooong very frustrating series with an even more frustrating love triangle... but if you can manage to get through the whole thing, the OVA and the 2 movies are freaking awesome. So angsty >.<
	Maison Ikkoku Box Set Vol. 1 (Disc 1 of 3) (1986)			Not Rated
Another really frustrating series. This is a Rumiko Takahashi (the creator of InuYasha) anime... it actually has a conclusion unlike her other work... but it take 90-something episodes to get to a very obvious ending. The last 5 episodes or so are really good.

Even though Ranma had NO conclusion, it is still one of my favorites. Very angsty relationship between Ranma and Akane and the other characters... like a love octagon. Good Stuff.
	Inu Yasha Vol. 1: Down the Well (2002)			Not Rated
The end was really disappointing, if you can even call it an ending. Regardless, the show is very good, very angsty love triangle between InuYasha, Kagome, and Kikyo. To get a conclusion fans will have to start the manga which is going no where very slowly.

This series is really weird, and has several angsty moments. It's pretty good, but expect to be really confused/grossed out/??? at times.

Take all the standard popular romance and shoujo anime out there and roll it into a neat little 13 episode package and you have Pretear. You will not find anything new and exciting here but even so, it is great. Angst through the roof. Very good but typical shoujo magical girl anime, with a good love story.

The anime that started the obsession with romance anime for me. The first season of Sailor Moon is very angsty, if you like it you might want to watch the rest of anime too... its very long but very good.
	Ceres, Celestial Legend Vol. 1: Destiny
Ceres is by the same creator of Fushigi Yuugi, but not as good. There is still plenty of angst, but the ending will probably piss some people off... well at least it pissed me off.
	Princess Nine Vol. 1: First Inning (2001)
Very angsty girl power type anime. A good love triangle.
	Steel Angel Kurumi Vol. 1: Angel on My Shoulder (2002)
The relationship in SAK is weird because the boy is so young. But it's still a good romance and it's very funny.
	Super GALS! Vol. 1: Gals Gotta Have Heart (2003)			Not Rated
Like Fruits Basket... there never really is any flat out romance but there are lots of angsty near romance moments, it's also very funny. This series has a second season that hasn't been released yet *crosses fingers*

Ok so AYA goes before Enishi but I liked enishi a lot better than AYA. Many people will read this and think I'm nuts... but honestly I just wanted to stab Aoi, so seeing less of her was nice. ^^
