| woo. disturbing and dreamy in that spike lee way. addresses culture and the media and what it means to sell out. visually and aurally engaging, but still hard to watch in some spots. |

| very intelligent and telling. spike does his thing by letting conversations about identity and politics carry this film most of the way through. more ear and eye candy in this one also. |

| can you tell i'm a spike lee fan? yeah. what is the right thing anyway? that goes unanswered, but leaves you with some heavy food for thought. |

| ouch. teenie bopper rape porn. but not. hard to tell who's the most fucked up in this one. parental involvement (or lack thereof) comes up a bunch too. |
| Hollywood Shuffle (1987)

| light and funny but made its point when it was released. robert townsend plays many roles in this one, to his credit he does them all justice. has hollywood changed much since this was released? you decide. |
| Black and White (1999)

| mostly fluff and teenybopper pornish to boot. explores some interesting ideas about race identity and culture appropriation. plus brooke shields. nuff said. |

| intense and beautiful and stunning. where did this guy go wrong? what's he supposed to do now? nice contrasts displayed here between a (relatively) accurate portrayal of street life versus a more nurturing artsy community. good slam poetry too. |
