Kid-friendly Anime
List creator: bighead
Created on: August 24, 2005 - 3:16 PM PDT
Description: A list of anime that my kids (two little girls) and I have enjoyed watching. We steer away from things that are too violent or sexual.

My Neighbor Totoro (1988)
Not Rated
Wonderful story and characters, no scary moments.
Kiki's Delivery Service (Special Edition) (1989)
Another wonderful Miyazaki movie. Only one very slightly scary moment toward the end, but not really that scary.
The Cat Returns (2002)
Slightly scary near the end, but a great movie. Another Miyazaki favorite.
Oh My Goddess! DVD Vol. 1 (1993)
Romantic and funny anime, some very brief nudity but not sexual and hardly there
Love Hina Vol. 1: Moving In (2001)
Not Rated
Funny and romantic, but the lead character serves as a punching bag for the others. Comic violence, but still mild. The last disc, Love Hina Again, is slightly sexually suggestive, and you may want to steer away.
Marmalade Boy: Ultimate Scrapbook Vol. 1 (Disc 1 of 3) (1994)
Not Rated
Romantic anime. Many discs. Engaging story. Only one scene where two men fight, but violence is very minimal.
Ranma 1/2: Digital Dojo - TV Season 1 (Disc 1 of 4) (2001)
Not Rated
Comic violence, as all the characters are martial artists. Nobody actually gets hurt, but lots of fighting. Still very funny. Classic anime that everybody should see.
Fruits Basket vol.1: A Great Transformation? (2002)
Not Rated
Romantic and comical. Last disc may be slightly scary. Wonderful series, can't recommend enough.
Ai Yori Aoshi Vol. 1: Faithfully Yours (2003)
Not Rated
Romantic series. One scene is a little violent, when the main character flashes back to some physical abuse.
His and Her Circumstances Vol. 1: Appearance of a Normal Life (1998)
More for teenagers, a little more mature, beautiful animation, great story. But the series ends rather abruptly, so the fifth disc is disappointing.
