The Iron Ladies (2000)
Not Rated
saw this in the castro at the film fest (a coupla the actors were in attendance!).
Shopping for Fangs (1997)
one of my fave movies of all time. ethan mao (tho good) didn't live up to my expectations after this film.
The Wedding Banquet (1993)
the film that started my ang lee obsession.
Better Luck Tomorrow (2002)
violent, somewhat stiff, but john cho and all as-am cast helps.
Wing Chun (1994)
might be my top movie, if i had to choose just one.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000)
love it. lush, gorgeous, fabulous fight scenes. michelle yeoh and chow yun fat are understated yet electric.
The Heroic Trio (1992)
i'm in love. can't decide who with...i'll just take 'em all, thanks.
My Sassy Girl (2001)
Not Rated
despite all the reviews, this is actually a korean sugar-sweet SM relationship. i think the girl actually throws up on the guy at some point, and he walks around in her heels. strange. but funny. kinda.
Hero (2002)
political analysis aside, this is a beautiful visual experience. the first fight sequence makes the entire movie worthwhile. add to that the stunning (in beauty as well as skill) maggie cheung (not to mention donny yen, tony leung and jet li) and you've got a fab film.
The Guru (2002)
best reference of all time: to simpson's character Apu.
Memento Mori (2000)
bit scary and creepy for me. but kinda cool in a messed-up-korean-flick-kinda way.
Rashomon (Criterion Collection) (1951)
  classic. must rent.
Iron Monkey (1993)
where is the hype? this is a great kung fu flick...and it predates crouching tiger by almost a decade...
Chungking Express (Criterion) (1994)
