I grew up lower-middle class in an upper-middle class area. This film spoke to me, man! And for years I tried to be Duckie.

I was uber-depressed when I saw this, and it made me feel human again, to see that even Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy are all confused about love. Also, I think me and Ms. Delpy should get married.

When I was 16, I thought this was so punk rock, just the coolest thing ever. I saw it a few years ago and realized that Alex wasn't actually supposed to be a hero.
