My wife fell asleep while watching this

But I stayed awake 'till the end. Not much plot or character development here, folks. Beautiful imagery though. Voiceover kept promising "to the edge of the universe" but it felt as if it would never deliver. Bottom line: Its been done better. Even "Planetary Traveller" is better...

I rented this because of the clever title and wicked name parodies. Sorry that I did. Seventy percent obviously fake sex scenes, twenty percent sophmoric 'humor' and ten percent cheap and phoney 'special effects'. Toy plastic helicoptor hanging from a wire? Get real...

My wife and I were surprised at how much we enjoyed watching this. At first I was a little annoyed that the movie couldn't seem to go more than two minutes without breaking out in a musical number, but once I got used to it and accepted it for what it was it was good.

Possibly too cute and simplified. This anime is targeted at 10-to-13-year-old girls (junior high age in Japan).Nana has a crush on a young boy who does not appear to return her affections, indeed he may not even be aware of them. Youichi is portrayed as a smart, nice, and socially uninvolved young man. Nana cannot bring herself to even speak to Youichi, which is probably why he does not seem to notice her.
I enjoyed this video - and I am not a young girl. Those who want violence, robots, or martial arts melees will have to look elsewhere.

Fanservice: noun. Images designed to appeal to hormonal teenage boys. For example E-cup bras, panty shots, nude girls, bouncing breasts, etc.
I don't object to fanservice per se, but there should be some movie in between.
As usual in this genre, the male protagonist is too nice/timid to say "no" to the ugly stepsisters (oops, I mean seniors) who make him do all the work while they take all the credit. As usual, he has a heart of gold and is a really nice guy. Wimp.
If you're a horny young male with low standards you will love this disk.

I guess it's a 'chick flick' - if you're looking for magic, giant robots, or adrenaline-raising fight scenes, look elsewhere. Five of these girls are sympathetic and looking for love; the sixth girl is less sympathetic and is seeking approval. The last chapter on the last disk is where all six previously seperate story arcs come together. Rewarding!

Not really a DVD - no menu, no subtitles (alas!), no extras of any sort. Begins with a pedantic lecture that goes on for far too long (it can be skipped). The play is so faithful to the way Shakespeare's audience may have seen it as to be all but incomprehensible to a contemporary viewer...
Being slightly hard of hearing, I had trouble understanding the dialog and I craved subtitles. BTW, I have no problems hearing other English-language DVDs.

It takes a while to adjust to its UNIQUE visual style, but after that it's a gas! I enjoyed the guest appearance cameos too.

I consider myself not a prude, but I found the potty humor and crotch grabbing to be a bit much. WIlliams is very talented and very funny, but I'd wish he found something else to parody. I can see why Disney had trouble keeping him in line during the voice-acting for Alladin...
Still, I'd enjoyed it, and watched to the end. The disk had great image quality and good sound.

Good story, good graphics, great CGI that manages not to look like CGI, interesting characters. It almost makes it a great movie.
However, not a minute goes by where I don't react "that's not possible!" This file requires a lot more "suspension of disbelief" than this viewer could manage. Pity.

As a (nearly-senile) adult, I was underwhelmed by this movie. Seven-year-olds may have outgrown it's 'ancient' American animation style (does not look like anime) and primitive story line.
I rented this because of Miyazaki's contribution, but I was disappointed
Still the art quality was okay...

I enjoy Futurama, but I and my family found this to be one of the finest examples of the art to date. It's beautifully crafted, with cleverly chosen guest stars and wonderful plots. I was reluctant to send the disk back...

The program with 3D glasses is 108 minutes long - without the glasses you can only watch a 12-minute synopsis of the story. It's an interesting 12 minutes, but I'm glad I didn't have to buy the DVD to find out.
