hugo weaving is one of the most imaginative and versatile actors of our times, etc. I always fall more in love with him when I see this flick. and guy pearce always makes me go yum... there should be more films with trannies as central characters. yay trannies! altho I've always regretted how the mail-order bride subject was treated here - a little one-sided and racist I guess - but being a film about aussies I suppose you've gotta keep a bit of that in there... I remember seeing this in junior high school, and developing an entirely new appreciation for puccini as a result ;-)
