The filmmaker obviously wasn't expecting his home movie to turn into an exciting story, but when he made startling discoveries of his grandmother's involvement with Nazis, he decided to follow the story and see where it went. Unfortunately, when you don't know where a story is going, there's no guarantee it'll even be a story, and what could've been a really good short ends up being somewhat overlong and ultimately a bit disappointing.

Slow-paced, but ultimately fascinating. Absolutely gorgeous footage of remote locations. The bulk of the story involves three people, isolated for days from other people, not even talking much, on a trip ends up being far more meaningful than they could possibly have anticipated. The less you know about this movie beforehand, the better; don't even read the Greencine description, if you can avoid it.
