A belated spoof of the short-lived, environmentally-themed 1972 Hanna Barbara series Sealab 2020, Sealab 2021 utilized existing animation and characters to create a surreal and hilarious "remix" that couldn't have been further away from the straight-faced predecessor. Airing in 15-minute long, weekly segments during The Cartoon Network's late-night "Adult Swim" lineup, the irreverent series takes place one year after the original series, when the crew of the high-tech underwater research facility has been driven to the point of near madness by the lack of interaction with the outside world. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
