Appearing on the Bravo cable network just after the runaway success of their other gay-themed reality show, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Boy Meets Boy delivered what exactly what its title promised. A handsome, unattached gay professional man named James was required to sift through a pool of 15 eligible bachelors to choose his perfect mate. Although the premise was unorthodox for series TV, the show's real twist was manifested in the makeup of its contestants: several of the men were actually straight, merely posing as what they weren't in hopes of winning a 25,000-dollar prize for being selected by James. Created by Douglas Ross and hosted by Extra!'s Dani Behr, Boy Meets Boy premiered July 29, 2003. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
