Artists of the 20th Century: Marcel Duchamp back to product details

the narration and the slideshow don't even sync up!

This run-down of the major works of Marcel Duchamp's career reminds me how truly joyless uninspired art history classes can be. The narration begins with a scant biography then launches into dry, often grammitically awkward criticism of the paintings, readymades, etc. Often the titles are read before the image appears, or the commentary continues after the images have switched. Duchamp's life and work have both been characterized elsewhere as playful, dynamic and adventerous, but this film fails to get any of that across.
