This animated, futuristic puppet fantasy finds Lady Penelope and Professor Brains working for the organization International Rescue. Excelent. Century 21 at its best; the models, the style, the explosions.
The sad part is I'm 40yrs old and the very sound of the theme tune still makes me want to stop everything and stare, drooling, at the TV. The acid test was I lent this to a friend who showed it to his jaded 4yr old son who first hid behind the sofa and then proceded to watch the rest of it through his fingers and then wanted to watch it again!
Unfortunatly Sylvia Anderson (she has divored Gerry and has the rights to the property) recently made a live action, CGI, load of old pish; the morgatge probably needed paying!
However if you want hot, full color, marionet on marionet action, done in cinemascope, with explosions, that you can watch with the Kiddies and enjoy, then rent this. |
