In a world where courage and treachery know no bounds, a solitary figure traverses the countryside of Edo era Japan. His name is Shuranosuke Sakaki, and he is the greatest swordsman in the world. To him, honor is a code more strict than loyalty and more sacred than blood. Caught in a deadly political struggle between two noble families and a band of mysterious ninja, Sakaki pledges himself to protect the innocent Princess Mayu and to rescue the stolen treasure of the rivaling houses.
