Pokemon Advanced Review, My take on the series as a whole... by EternityOfPain July 26, 2005 - 2:04 PM PDT

First I want to say I disliked the previous pokemon series, I felt that they lacked a story and some of the characters were down right annoying (yes I am talking about that Misty character). This series came with much NEEDED improvements, first off the animation is better, by that I do not mean a whole lot but you do notice a difference. Several old characters are gone for example Misty (who I honestly do not miss). Some new characters are May and her brother Max. May kind of acts as a replacement for Misty and a much more likeable I might add. She herself can relate to Ash because they are both pokemon trainers however unlike Ash who is training his pokemon to be a pokemon master she is training them for a contests. It is a lot of fun to see her trying to learn how to communicate with her Pokemon. However with someone good always comes something bad, Max. He is quite annoying pointing out the obvious to his sister like basic attack moves. On a higher note we do see some new Pokemon (don?t worry Ash still has his Pikachu), I need to mention that I have viewed the first DVD from Viz and I have to say the dub is pretty bad, however I do think it is bearable. Overall those who longed for another Pokemon series this is it and at least it is better then the Johto series (*shutters*)
