Following the multi-faceted and utterly believable Jessie and Celine characters after a nine-year hiatus, BEFORE SUNSET discovers them as early middle-age professionals, he a writer, she an environmentalist. They meet in Paris, spend another hour together, and then.... If you loved "Before Sunrise," as I did, you won't be kept away from this sequel, which is every bit as wonderful. What an amazing thing to spend time with two intelligent, likeable, problemed people for whom you'll want the best, even though you (and they) realize that even second best is probably better than most of us will ever see. Richard Linklater has given us a double classic here, and one that may very well turn into a triple. Let's hope.
