The story of Ginji and Ban, two chronically broke but supernaturally empowered youths who recover lost or stolen items for a fee. They run their dakkanya (retrieval service) out of the Honky Tonk cafe, and promise an (almost) 100% success rate. The unlikely partnership of stingy, irritable Ban and energetic, cheerful Ginji is combined with help of the blonde-bombshell intermediary Hevn, the research skills of the Honky Tonk's owner Paul, and the generosity of Paul's assistant Natsumi. Add a rival transporting team, the Yakuza (Japanese mafia), crooked cops, rouge street gangs, and the gods of the Mugenjou's Babylon City itself and you'll find the resulting escapades are eternally entertaining. Friends turn to enemies, opponents turn to allies, and the cycle of theft, betrayal, and revenge is punctuated only by the need to stop and get a good cup of coffee.
