One of the only extra features on this disk is a small featurette where the director gets to explain the differences between this version and the one released to theaters. He explains why parts were cut or changed for the theatrical release. In my opinion the studio should have listened to him. This is a much better version of the movie. Seriously, if you thought Daredevil was decent, check this out. There's so much more here in the Director's Cut. There's more sub-plot, more character interaction, and yes, more violence. Unlike the director's cut of Underworld, where I couldn't notice anything different, this was a much different movie. It's slower, deeper, and darker. If that's the kind of thing you look for in a movie as opposed to a cliched popcorn flick, pick this over the theatrical release. |
