Actor and musician Vincent Gallo takes on the role of writer, director, editor, cinematographer, and star with his second filmmaking effort, The Brown Bunny. Motorcycle racer Bud Clay (Gallo) drives his van across the country in search of his lost love, Daisy (Chloë Sevigny). He stops at her parents' house and sees the brown bunny she left behind. Along the rest of the way, he stops for gas, rides his bike, and makes out with a woman at a roadside rest area (Cheryl Tiegs). He meets up with Daisy when he finally arrives in Los Angeles, leading to the revelatory conclusion in his hotel room. The Brown Bunny premiered in competition at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival in a working cut of 119 minutes that was widely panned; a 93 minute final edit was shown at subsequent festivals and premiered in the United States in the summer of 2004. ~ Andrea LeVasseur, All Movie Guide

I'm going to be honest- I haven't even seen this film, but I do know how it ends. And about 30 minutes into it, I know what's going on there too. Snore. I'll give it two just for oral sex.
I can't stand watching Gallo's "art", listening to his half-ass singer songwriter-inspired rants. It's beyond BORING and PRETENTIOUS. I live in LA- these cats are a dime a dozen.
I do, however, recommend his watching his rant in "Rated R-Republicans in Hollywood," where Gallo waxes poetic on why's he's a registered republican. Ohh- how controversial, Vinnie! Yawn.
Also, he's bedded two of my friends who are, shall we say, not of legal age. Oops. Did I just hit Submit review? |

An excruciating exercise in tedium, where even the aforementioned blow job is dull as John Bolton.
Or perhaps it's more like being subjected to the wet dream of a men's magazine editor.
What is more uninteresting than an aging hipster like Gallo?
Fans of U.S. speedway will enjoy this. |

| My husband is interested in oral sex. Whose husband isn't? So we got Brown Bunny primarily for that reason, and the 85 other minutes of the film were a total snore. I just read the interview with Vincent Gallo about this film, and I still can't get what the heck he is about. He wants to not care? He wants to retire and die? But isn't there some passion in this? I don't know. It just makes me tired. |
