| The L Word is addicting. Yes, everyone is skinny. Yes, they all live in LA, have fabulous jobs (including art curator, tennis player, hip magazine writer and hair stylist), live in big houses and drive convertibles. Yes, they are all kinda cheesy and somewhat femme and don't represent the lesbians that 'you know'. But who cares? The L word is Lesbian Capitalism at its finest so let's get over it and watch some trashy television. The writing is hilarious, the drama is high and the sex is hot. What more do you want? How about Jennifer Beals (flashdance!), Leisha Hailey (from the dyke coming of age movie, All Over Me as well as member of the Murmurs), along with guest appearances by Rosanna Arquette, Snoop Dogg and a cameo with artist Catherine Opie (to name a few). Watch them in order and yes, the drama builds -- and stick around for the highly dramatic episode 11 and Kelly Lynch's drag king/trans character. |
