BROTHERS IN ARMS gives us the remaining crew of John Kerry's Viet Nam Swift Boat, including Kerry himself, although the other guys get more screen time, and just as well. The interviews (for that is mostly what this movie comes down to) are quite good. They give you a feel of what it was like to be in Viet Nam, along with the post-war experiences of these men. The final segment, which includes Mr. Kerry and the vets stumping for his bid for the Presidency, is no great shakes. Not that it matters much anymore, but what is shown and told in this film gives the lie to those shoddy "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" and their sleazy message that turned "truth" into a lie. But then, what can we expect from a hypocritical and cowardly President and his crew who copped out of serving during wartime and then tried to tarnish the good name of those who did. If moral values had ANYTHING to do with this past election, the 51% who so piously claim these values would do well to at least learn the different between truth and lies. This documentary is not a bad place to start. Then those pious can move on to Iraq, why we're there, and the more than 100,000 civilians we've killed. And finally to even more tax cuts for the rich and the corporations, and the privatization of Social Security--which will pretty well bankrupt America, pious and impious alike. Whoops--guess I am going beyond the boundaries of this film. Anger and injustice'll do that do you....
