this review assumes you already know the basic facts; the plot synopsis, etc. What i'm trying to give here is an idea of how it feels to watch this title.

it's hard when an anime is good enough that you not only suspend disbelief, but you feel for the characters and want to hug them and tell them it's going to be alright, even though you know that there is nothing you could do or say that would make them feel any better.

And it's NOT going to be alright.

This is a sombre story. i kept shaking my head, and thinking it was very sad, but i kept watching.

Even though the art is only so so, the writing is so good that the characters seem very realistic.

Their lives are not happy. This is not the usual comedic girls with guns genre.

There are a few darkly humorous moments when you realize that all hell is about to break loose and someone innocent will be killed for no reason.

The only thing close to happiness here are wistful foggy recollections of happy moments which the characters experience when some bit of brain washing didn't quite erase the memory of a dead friend, or some similarly cyber-gothic plot point.
