Worse than Dracula 2000.This is nothing more an an Alien ripoff with vampires. The Dracula is boring. Coolio plays the crew member who is always stoned. Imagine that. We find out late in the film that Erica Eleniak is really an android planted among the crew by their supervisors. That's original. Count Dracula is really an alien from the planet Transylvania. Give me a break. And what's the deal with Udo Kier? Does he have to make an appearance in every vampire movie? Please, no Dracula 4000. |

| Dumb fun is what you'll get from the count's latest incarnation, a little German/US collaboration titled DRACULA 3000 that offers--thank goodness--a short running time. This is "vampires in space," and pretty much what you'd get if you yourself sat down to dash off a quickie screenplay. Along the way, there are a couple of surprises, an energetic and funny performance from Coolio, the expected gravitas from Tiny Lister, and--in the "looks" department--Erika Eleniak and Casper Van Dien. The Dracula, however, is boring and charmless. Sit through the end credits for a final cute touch from Mr. Lister. |
