| In one of the more blatant cases of dishonest marketing in a long while, RELATIVE EVIL purports (from the box art and description) to be a scary thriller. Expect a thriller without thrills and a scare fest with nary a scare. There are good performances from Tucker and O'Connell and the usual from Tilly and Strathairn. With lots of heavy-duty plotting, the movie offers set-up after set-up, and all of it comes to naught: a depressing tale of the fall and fall of a teenage alkie and his worthless array of friends, relatives and even--oh, no!--his doctor/therapist. Boo. |
