Embracing a dense, lush and unhurried sound that owed more to European pop music and film soundtracks than the work of their contemporaries on the British rock scene, Tindersticks have always been a band that has followed a path all their own. This also applies to the way the band makes music videos; working with filmmaker Martin Wallace, the group's promo clips rarely feature the band lip-synching to their own songs, and often take the form of oblique musings on contemporary British life.
