Some of the early reviews of SHARK TALE were so horrible, you would have thought that a capital offense had been perpetrated by Dreamworks. Of course, once you see the movie, you realize that--hey, this is not up to the level of "Finding Nemo," but it's still pretty good fun. Wonderfully colorful (the palette is extraordinary) and with clever touches to offset the occasional clunky moments, the animation is slick enough to be impressive but "unreal" enough so that it never pretends to blur the line between reality and "toon." No matter how you slice it, "Shark Tale" will provide a decent amount of fun for both adults and kids to make it a worthwhile rent. (Warning: for the populace who considers itself "red state," there is indeed a message of tolerance towards those who are different. So avoid this one like the plague, 'cuz it might mean the end of civilation!)
