The Final Cut back to product details

Memories (not the "Cats" variety)

THE FINAL CUT is a much better than average sci-fi tale, due mostly to its marvelous premise (which you'll pick up slowly as you follow the movie home to a surprising, yet appropriate, conclusion) and a new writer/director Omar Naim who understands the uses of subtlety and shows a lot of promise both visually and verbally. Robin Williams does another of his latter-day creepy/sad turns in the lead, and he's surrounded by a good cast. But mostly it's the writer/director's work that shines in this unusually intelligent, quiet movie (undoubtedly why it didn't pack audiences into theatres). Mr. Naim has a lot on his mind--much of which may transfer into yours, as well.
