This disk contains episodes 73 - 78, which is the end of the third and final season of the Slayers TV series. Lina and the others must figure out a way to defeat Darkstar, who is a demon from the Outerworld on the same level as Shabranigdo (remember him from the first season?). Although the series bogged down a little in the last disk, the episodes on this disk are fast-paced and entertaining with plot twists building up to an exciting climax. All in all, I liked this entire series as a good mixture of sword and sorcery action and warm-hearted silly humor. If anything, my only complaint is that parts of the third season didn't work as well as the earlier seasons because it tried to be too serious -- for example, trying to show that enemies are real people too by focusing on Jillas over and over again. It got too sentimental, IMHO. The first season did a much better job on the same theme with Zelgadis.

Lots of side adventures by hneline1 July 4, 2002 - 2:45 AM PDT

This disk contains episodes 66 - 72, which begins with Lina and the gang battling Valgaav to prevent him from opening the door to the Overworld. After the battle, they are scattered throughout the islands and find lots of side adventures -- Lina must escape an Alice in Wonderland type maze with a Pig instead of a White Rabbit as her guide/nemesis; Lina, Zelgadis and Filia fight evil spirits on a ghost ship; Amelia uses Gourry as bait to attract a sea monster who can help two star-crossed lovers (one is a human and the other is a fish); and Amelia and Gourry are recruited as members of the five-hero Peacemen, who run around fighting for Justice in tights. The last few episodes get back to the main story arc when Almayce's comrades appear in search of the fifth weapon. Although this series continues to be fun, I thought that the humor was starting to wear thin with the side adventures... Now that it's back to the main story, I'm anxious to see the final disk of this series. :-)

This disk contains episodes 59 - 65, in which Lina and the gang finally arrive at the temple of the Fire Dragon King. After several funny adventures and battles and plot twists, we find out why Valgaav and Almayce are after Gourry's Sword of Light. This continues to be an excellent, light hearted comic adventure series.

A variety of anime I've seen that I recommend others see. They are listed alphabetically by series and then in the order recommended for watching them.
